Oldham take the spoils

Oldham 28-12 Batley

Yesterday saw Oldham take the points in a disappointing defeat for Batley in the Kingstone Press Clash. Batley made one change from last Monday’s game vs Whitehaven which saw Brad Day return with Adam Gledhill missing out.

Batley started off on the back foot as Oldham opened the scoring with full back Richard Lepori, Palfrey added the extras while Batley added a penalty goal from Pat Walker before Liam Johnson scored on the half time hooter Palfrey added the conversion from wide out.

The visitors came out in the second half looking for a response but couldn’t find one as Brad Day and Alex Brown were both short before Tom Lillycrop dropped the ball over the line. The home side scored again with winger Jamal Chisholm who caught Palfrey kick to the corner before Sam Gee and Chisholm again scored to finish off a great afternoon for the Roughyeds. Batley added two consolation tries from man of the match prop Tom Lillycrop and popular winger Wayne Reittie.
